The latest piece of work at the Laboratory for Scientific Computing is on a novel computational multiphysics interface capturing approach for physical systems under extreme conditions.
The method facilitates communication between multiple materials and states of matter, and allows for large material deformations, slide, void opening and fracture. It is designed to be straightforward to implement, inexpensive and highly parallelisable.
